Whilst the international
higher education market is becoming more competitive as education
competes as export and import commodity, international higher education
in South Africa still attracts little attention. This is in sharp
contrast with countries like Australia, New Zealand and the United
States of America where educational services represent respectively
the third, fourth and fifth largest export service. In contrast
to this, the South African Institutions of Higher Education in South
Africa have an inclination to address the imbalances of the past,
caused by the previous Apartheid Political System. This national
oriented approach has a detrimental effect on Institutions of Higher
Education in South Africa’s ability to significantly gain
in terms of education export.
The PUBLIC educational system is broken and cannot be fixed. The
system is so bogged down in political bureaucracy, red tape, special
interests, union politics, under funding, misuse of funds, misdirection,
non-focus, status quo thinking, social rhetoric, unfunded programs,
broken political promises, and under staffed, under qualified, and
under paid administrators and teachers that the PUBLIC educational
system can never be fixed. It is an impossible task.
The education system is the backbone of a progressing society.
It is the standard of education that determines an individual's
and the country's progress. A typical educational system consists
of Primary Schools, High Schools, Colleges and Higher education
institutes. It is important to provide quality education at all
levels in order to have sustainable growth and development. To improve
the educational system, it is important that people are aware of
the education issues and problems in the education system.
More college students than ever are turning to the internet for
their education and with good reason. Many students returning to
college at an older age must juggle a full time job and family as
well as their education. An online college education is also particularly
useful for graduate students in earning master’s or doctorate
degrees. One valuable tool to use in searching for an appropriate
online university is www.online-training-education.net.
Special education inclusion signifies the participation of special
education students in regular education classrooms and provision
of support services to these students. The main objective of inclusion
education is that all students in a school, regardless of their
strengths and their weaknesses in any area, become part of the school
community. Every student develops a feeling of belonging with other
students, teachers, and support staff. In segregated special education,
children will not learn how to function in a non-disabled world.
For instance, children who are disabled in terms of communication
and are emotionally distressed would not communicate and might remain
in a more emotionally disturbed state in segregated settings. The
federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) holds
it mandatory for schools to educate children with disabilities in
general education classrooms.
The rising cost of education has compelled students to find new
ways of funding their studies. They strive to get scholarships and
pursue financial institutions for borrowing student loans but still
they remain short of money. Most of the students don't know how
much money they need for pursuing their degree. They don't include
hostel rent, books prices, commuting expenses etc. as their education
expense. This may be the reason that a large number of college students
always remain short of funds. A brief analysis of savings and expenditure
will be of great help for such students.
